We see a yellow background with a robed figure holding a wand standing in front of a table. On the table is a representation of each suit of tarot. The flowers in the foreground are roses and lilies and above his head is the symbol for infinity.
The card is numbered with the Roman numeral I, the beginning, the moment of creation. Upright the magician is traditionally associated with manifestation, willpower, resourcefulness, and creation. Reversed the card represents illusions, misuse of power, and trickery.
To me the Magician resonates power. In what seems like a former life now I was in a less than ideal situation. I was wandering through life, I didn’t’ feel like I had a purpose, I did not feel comfortable or even safe in my own skin. I was mentally weighed down by shame, guilt, and trauma. I don’t even remember a single catalyst of an event, in my memory it feels gradual but steady. One foot in front of the other, I started walking the path back to myself. I made the decision to work through my shadows, still a work in progress, to take action to be a person I could be proud to be. I wasn’t alone in life but this was a journey into myself and I had to travel alone. It was up to me, to stand up for me. It was up to me to take care of me and to take my power back and I decided to never give it up again.
Let’s take a moment to focus on the magician and journal about a time when you felt like you took your power back. Let me know some of your “Magician” moments.
